Our Team

Maddix

Traditional barber

I started in San Francisco around 2009 as an apprentice under classically trained traditional barbers. When I completed my apprenticeship, I moved on to a more diverse shop here in the East Bay to further my education and experience. While I am well versed in many different hair types and modern styles, I tend to favor the true aspect of traditional barbering. I enjoy executing those classic contoured cuts from the early to mid 1900's. Although I am a traditional barber and I do specialize in more masculine styles, it does not limit my expertise to just men. I have a very diverse clientele and welcome all genders.

Lucky

Traditional barber

Lucky cultivated an interest in barbering as a young Marine, where he gave thousands of weekly regulation military cuts over his 4 year tour. Traveling the world, he sought out barbershops, learning the traditional tonsorial techniques, incorporating them into his own services as the squad bay’s, “Barracks Barber”. After discharge, Lucky spent time as an educator for adjudicated youth in the wilderness of Utah. Teaching students, Wilderness survival and paleo-technologies. After 9/11, he enlisted in The Army reserves and after 6 years of service, he was discharged and chose to pursue "peace through hair.” He was trained by renown barber educator, Tim Hite. He also attended the prestigious Vidal Sassoon cutting course, learning precision cuts. He then opened LUCKYS, a Small Town barbershop in Provo. Serving ranchers, cowboys, farmers and small town business men, he built a reputation as Utah county's best traditional Barbershop and Antiques dealer. After four years, he sold LUCKYS and moved back home to California. Specializing in classical contour cuts, military cuts, bald fades, urban designs, classical tapers, pompadours, 50s rockabilly, avant-garde cuts, and traditional hot towel shaves. He makes clients feel relaxed and revived, finishing every haircut with hot foam shave cream and straight razor finish.

Nadia

Stylist

Nadia grew up in Dallas but always knew that Tx was bunk, so she made her escape to the east bay. Ever since she graduated from cosmetology school in 2010, she has used hair as her medium to express her creativity. She believes that while we paint and sculpt with a clear vision, it is important to let the hair be the director. Over the years, she has found the most fulfillment in color and lightening services, and when she can complete the look with a funky textured cut (razored mullets, shags, anything curly) that is her ideal day. While Nadias passion lies in the more natural tones, she will always be excited to take on a vivid/colorful project. It is her understanding that communication and education are the keys to reaching your hairs' potential and maintaining the look on your own. When she's not enveloped in hair, Nadia can be found eating and chillin with her dogs: Mac, Cookie, and Emmy.

Dani

Stylist

I am currently not accepting new clients, due to my full clientele, but I am more than happy to recommend you to someone I know and trust. I have been doing hair for the past 20+ years and every year I love it more. I chose this career because it allows me to be creative and technical at the same time. My goal is to give my clients hair the color, shape and style that suits them as individuals. I also make it a point to teach clients how to recreate their new style at home. I truly want you to love your hair as much as I love what I do! My focus behind the chair is giving an person a hair cut and, or color that makes them feel their best. I am very detail oriented and love creating personalized highlights and color. Natural to wild, blonde, red or brunette, I love creating all types of color on my clients. As a hair cutter, my heart is in soft but creative cuts that are sculpted and personalized for an individual. I love working with all hair types including curly and coarse, as well as fine, limp and straight hair. No two heads of hair are the same and working with a mix of hair keeps me inspired and motivated to try new techniques. Most of all, what I love about doing hair is the connections and relationships I have made with my clients. I value them all and love my time behind the chair and cherish the friendships I have made while making people feel their best. When I'm not behind the chair, I'm hanging with my 3 kids, our dogs and my husband, Maddix the barber.

I have been in the industry for 18 years as a hairdresser and educator. I've worked as a traveling educator and platform artist for Sexy Hair, a salon concierge for Privé, and apprenticeship Co-educator at Thirteen salon all while working behind the chair. I've been lucky enough to have training with Vidal Sassoon, Privé, Aveda, Deva curl, Sexy Hair and Thirteen salon so I have a wide range of techniques to support creativity. I love doing anything from a crisp precision Bob to shattered, funky asymmetry, natural soft tones to vibrant fashion colors. Anyone across the gender spectrum can feel safe in my chair and I love working with all lengths and textures. I'm Bay Area born and raised, originally from Vallejo and have been in Oakland for 15 years where I have a rich community of artists, queers and weirdos. When I'm not working, you can find me dancing in the sun with my wife, riding bikes with friends, hiking with my dogs, or studying for my Bachelors degree in Social Work.
